Australian Minister for Trade and Tourism Don Farrell met his Chinese counterpart, Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao, in Abu Dhabi on Monday, 26 February (local time).
The ministers discussed China’s review of its duties on Australian wine and Minister Farrell reportedly raised the suspended death sentence received by Australian writer Yang Hengjun.
Taking place on the sidelines of the thirteenth World Trade Organization (WTO) Ministerial Conference, this was at least the sixth meeting between ministers Farrell and Wang since February 2023.
